Website design in Loughrea

Loughrea’s day starts early. By seven the cars are on the M6 for Galway, for the hospital, the University, Parkmore and the offices, and they come back after six to a town that has grown rings of new estates around a medieval core. The lake is still the centre of life, with the walk around it busy after work and swimmers in it from June, and Main Street, Barrack Street and Church Street still have the butchers, pubs, chemists and cafes of a market town, with St Brendan’s Cathedral beside the water and stained glass inside it that people travel to see. Website design in Loughrea is for a business serving that mix: the commuter who is only here in the evening, the farming families from Kilchreest, Bullaun and Craughwell who have always shopped here, and the retired. We are in Dublin, and we work with Loughrea businesses by video call and WhatsApp; the site is built from the photos and details you send, and nothing in the service depends on us being nearby.

A commuter town searches at night. The heating goes on in October and nothing happens, the dishwasher leaks, a child needs a dentist, and the search happens between seven and ten on a phone: ‘heating engineer Loughrea’, ‘plumber Loughrea’, ‘dentist Loughrea’. The person searching is tired and wants a mobile number they can tap now and a form they can fill in for the morning. If your page has both, with a few photos of real jobs and a Google listing that says Loughrea rather than somewhere vaguely in Galway, you get the call.

Half the referrals in a town this size still happen face to face, on the lake walk or at the school gate, and the other half in the estate WhatsApp groups. Both end with a search for the name, and if the name does not come up with a photo and a number, the referral might as well not have happened.

A patch that follows the M6

A trade here works Loughrea, Craughwell, Athenry, Kilreekill, Kiltullagh, Attymon and Aughrim, and often out to Gort or in to the edge of the city. The site needs each of those places named in a sentence that says what you do there, because a search from Craughwell is matched to a page about Craughwell. The address carries the H62 routing key, matched exactly to the Google Business Profile, and the profile is set up as a service-area business if you go to the customer rather than the other way round. Our guide on setting up a Google Business Profile in Ireland walks through it step by step.

The lake, the cathedral and the summer

Loughrea has a modest visitor trade that most towns its size do not: people who come for the cathedral’s stained glass, and walkers and swimmers at the lake through the summer. The cafes and pubs on Main Street see them, and those visitors find somewhere to eat by searching rather than by asking. Hours and a menu on a page you can change yourself from your own phone is the whole of what that needs.

Pubs, creches and the unanswered review

The town’s pubs, creches, cafes and salons often run on Facebook alone, and the worst of that is not being invisible, it is not controlling what people see. One bad Google review with no reply, on a listing nobody has claimed, sits there for years and is read by every newcomer on the estate. Claiming the listing, replying calmly and having a page of your own where the facts live is the fix; our guide on how to reply to bad Google reviews has the approach.

Questions from Loughrea

How do we meet if you are in Dublin and I am in Loughrea?

We do not need to. The first chat is a video or phone call, twenty minutes at most, and after that it is WhatsApp: you send hours, prices and photos, we send the draft, you tell us what to change. The site is usually live within days, and you get a report by email each month. There is no Loughrea office and we do not claim one.

I am a heating engineer covering Loughrea, Athenry and out to Gort. How should the site describe that?

Loughrea as your base, with the H62 routing key on the address and the Google listing set up as a service-area business. Then Athenry, Craughwell, Kilreekill, Gort and the rest in their own sentences saying what you do there. A searcher in Gort is shown a page that mentions Gort; a line saying all areas covered shows nobody anything.

Half my customers are in Galway for work all day. When do they look for me?

Between seven and ten at night, on a phone, after they have noticed the thing that needs fixing. The site has to work then: a number they can tap and a form that reaches your WhatsApp so the job is waiting for you in the morning. Essentials includes both.

What does it cost?

Essentials is €499 to set up and €50 a month. Complete is €1,499 and €100 a month and adds bookings, payments, chat and the monthly Google work. Prices exclude VAT and there is no contract.
