Website design in Lusk

Lusk is a village that turned into a town while the round tower watched. The tower and the old church still mark the centre, Main Street still has the shops and the pubs, and the fields and market gardens still start at the last house. But the last twenty years added estate after estate around that core, the Rush and Lusk station fills every morning, and the M1 is a few minutes away, so a large part of the population now works in Dublin or at the airport and came here for a house they could afford. Website design in Lusk serves both halves: the old trade of farms, contractors and village shops, and the new trade of young families who need everything and know nobody yet. We are based in Dublin and we drive up to meet you.

What a new family does first

They join the local Facebook group and they search. “Creche Lusk”, “childminder Lusk”, “plumber Lusk”, “takeaway Lusk open now”, “painter near me”. The answers from the group are names, and every name gets checked on Google before a call is made. A business that shows up with a verified listing, real photos and current hours gets rung. One that shows up as nothing, or as a Facebook page with the wrong number, gets skipped for the next name on the thread.

Childcare is the sharpest version. There are never enough places in a growing village, parents look a year ahead, and the creche or childminder with fees, hours, age groups and a waiting list form on a page gets the enquiry at 10pm when the parent finally sits down.

Trades based in Lusk

A plumber, electrician or painter in Lusk rarely works only in Lusk. The week takes in Rush, Skerries, Donabate, Swords, Balbriggan and the farms between. The site should say that in a readable service area section, and the Google Business Profile should be set up as a service area business so the map shows the coverage and your home stays private. We have written the whole process in how to set up a Google Business Profile in Ireland.

Paving and driveway contractors do well out of the new estates, where a lot of fronts get done in the first few years, and their page lives on photos of finished driveways with the estate named. Agricultural contractors and the businesses serving the growers have the opposite problem: customers who have known them for decades but a new generation who search for the service first. A clear page covers both.

What the page needs

The village name and K45 once, where Google reads them. Hours, including the ones that change at Christmas. Prices or starting prices. Photos of real work. Tap-to-call and WhatsApp buttons, and an enquiry form that lands in your email and on your phone together. For the shops on Main Street, where to park. For anything with appointments, a booking button that works on a phone on the train. If you already have a site, we have a quick checklist of signs your website is costing you customers; old hours and a number that cannot be tapped are the usual offenders.

Facebook as the only shopfront

Many Lusk businesses have a Facebook page and nothing else, and it has served them while the village was small enough to pass names around. It does not appear in a Google search by the family that moved in last month, it cannot take a booking or a deposit, and it can be restricted without warning. A site on your own .ie domain, registered in your name, carries the facts and is yours to keep. The Facebook page carries on alongside it.

Cost and plans

Essentials is €499 to set up and €50 a month, excluding VAT, with no contract. Complete is €1,499 and €100 a month and adds bookings, payments, review requests and monthly Google management. Full details are on the pricing page, and the childminders page shows a one-page example for a home-based business.

Questions from Lusk

Do you come to Lusk in person?

Yes. We are in Dublin and Lusk is an easy drive up the M1. We can meet at the premises, at home if you work from the house, or in the village, and ten minutes is usually enough to start.

Should my page also mention Rush, since we share the station?

If you serve Rush, yes, and most Lusk businesses do. The site names Rush, Skerries, Donabate, Swords and Balbriggan where that is true, written as a sentence a person would read rather than a list of towns stuffed in for Google.

I am a childminder working from home. Does the site show my address?

No. The Google listing is set up as a service area so it shows Lusk and the area you cover without the house, and the site lists the area rather than the street. The enquiry form reaches you by email and WhatsApp.

How much is it and can I stop?

Essentials is €499 to set up and €50 a month; Complete is €1,499 and €100 a month. VAT is extra. There is no contract; you can stop with 30 days' notice, and the domain, the content and your customer data stay yours.
