Blinds are bought in a hurry after a house move and curtains are bought slowly after months of looking at bare windows. Both customers end up searching “blinds Dublin” or “made to measure curtains near me”, and both are checking the same things: do you come out to measure for free, how long will it take, do you do the awkward windows (the bay, the bifold doors, the Velux, the nursery that needs blackout), and does your work look like it belongs in a house like theirs. Websites for blinds and curtains in Dublin are won or lost on whether the free measure is one tap away.
The free measure is the product
Almost nobody buys made to measure blinds from a web page. They book a visit, you bring the samples, you measure, and the sale happens in the kitchen. So the site is built around requesting that visit. A short form: name, area, how many windows, roughly what they are after, evenings or daytime, and the number to confirm on. It lands in your email and your WhatsApp. The call button is beside it for the people who want it sorted now.
Say what happens at the visit, how long it takes, that there is no charge and no obligation, and how soon after the visit the quote arrives. Customers have sat through the hard-sell version of this appointment, and a plain description of yours is reassuring.
What people search for, and the page that answers
Each type of blind and curtain is a search of its own: roller, Roman, vertical, venetian, wooden, day and night, perfect fit for uPVC windows, blackout for children’s rooms, shutters, motorised blinds, skylight blinds, curtains, poles and tracks, and the awkward shapes. A short page for each, with your own photos and a line on lead time, means you turn up for the specific search and the customer lands on exactly their window. The ones you do not do, say so.
Child safety comes up constantly with young families. Say what you fit as standard on cords and chains, in your own words, and let the customer tick that worry off before they ring.
Photos of Dublin windows, not catalogue rooms
Suppliers hand you glossy photos of a blind in a room that does not exist. Customers can tell. The photos that sell are your own fits in ordinary houses: a bay in a red-brick in Drumcondra with three Roman blinds lining up, a bifold door in an extension in Knocklyon with a vertical that stacks clear, a nursery with blackout and no light leaking round the edge. Shoot them after the fit with the room tidy and the light on your side, straight on and then from where the customer will sit.
Lead times and the clocks going back
Made to measure means waiting, and the wait is different for a roller blind, a lined curtain and a plantation shutter coming in from abroad. Put the current lead time on each page and change it as it moves, from the edit page on your phone. The rush starts when the clocks go back in October and the evenings go dark, runs to Christmas, pauses in January, and picks up again with new homes closing in spring and summer. “Order by this date for Christmas” is the most useful sentence you will write all year.
Your Google Business Profile carries the showroom hours, the photos and the reviews, and most people see it before they see the site. Setting it up properly, including the service area if you measure across the county, is covered in how to set up a Google Business Profile in Ireland. If you already have a site and suspect it is quietly losing you visits, run through the signs a website is costing you customers on your phone first.
What we need
Your list of blind and curtain types and the ones you want pushed, your lead times, how the free measure works and the areas you cover for it, your showroom hours if you have one, twenty photos of your own fits with the area named, your child safety line, and the number and WhatsApp for requests. Ten minutes on the phone or at the showroom, and the site is up within a few days.
Price and plan
Essentials, at €499 to set up and €50 a month, covers the site, the .ie domain in your name, the measure request form, the Google listing and a monthly report of calls, visits and enquiries. Complete, at €1,499 and €100 a month, adds measure appointments booked into a calendar with reminders, review requests after every fit, the chat box and Google Ads for the autumn. The comparison is on the pricing page. Curtains often arrive in a house alongside a reupholstered chair, and the upholsterers page covers that trade.
