On a weekday morning in Adare the coaches pull in beside Main Street, forty people step down, photograph the thatched cottages, buy a coffee, a scarf and a postcard, and are gone towards Killarney inside the hour. On a Saturday the same street is wedding cars. Adare is a heritage village on the N21 with the Maigue running under its bridge, Adare Manor at one end, the Heritage Centre and the Trinitarian Abbey church along it, and a trade that lives on visitors, weddings and the people of Limerick who drive out for Sunday lunch.
Website design in Adare has to work for all three of those customers, and none of them is local. We are not local either. Our desk is in Dublin. We talk on a video call, you WhatsApp us the photos of the room, the menu and the hours, and we build the site from those. We have no premises in the village and we will not suggest that we do.
The visitor has chosen before the coach stops
The person who comes into your shop or restaurant in Adare has usually read about you already. They searched “lunch Adare” or “things to do in Adare” from a hotel room in Limerick or a kitchen in Boston, looked at Google Maps and at the photos, and decided. A visitor cannot ask a neighbour, so the page and the Google listing do the asking for them. The hours need to be right for the day they come, the menu needs to be readable on a phone, and the photos need to be of your actual room rather than a stock picture of a cottage.
The Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in September 2027 will bring a scale of that attention the village has not seen before, and the people coming will plan months out. A page that is correct and complete a year in advance is the preparation that costs least.
Weddings are booked from a kitchen table, far away
Adare’s wedding trade is booked a year or more ahead, and the search for a photographer, a florist, a celebrant, a band or a room for the second day starts the week of the engagement, often from abroad. Those suppliers need a real portfolio, a clear starting price and a way to check a date and hold it with a deposit. An enquiry form that lands in your WhatsApp and a deposit paid by card on the spot turns a maybe into a booking before the couple ring the next name. We have written about how to take deposits online in Ireland and the consumer rules that go with them.
The N21, V94 and the bypass
Adare’s Eircodes start with V94, the Limerick city routing key, and your address should read Adare, Co. Limerick with the Eircode the same way on the site, in the structured data and on Google. The traffic on Main Street is part of life here until the bypass is finished, so say where to park and how long the walk is. For a business that serves Limerick city and the county as much as the village, name those places in sentences: Croom, Rathkeale, Patrickswell, Raheen and the city itself.
Craft shops, galleries and cafes that only post
A lot of Adare’s smaller businesses, the craft shops, the galleries, the cafes, the makers who sell at the markets, live on Instagram because the village photographs well. Instagram shows the pictures to people who already follow you. It is invisible to the family searching “cafe Adare” from the car on the N21 and to the AI tools that now answer “where should we eat in Adare” by reading real pages. A proper page gives them something to find.
What it costs
Essentials is €499 to set up and €50 a month and covers the site, the domain, hosting and the Google listing. Complete, at €1,499 and €100 a month, adds bookings with deposits, payments, chat and the monthly Google work that a visitor business leans on. The pricing page has the detail, and the restaurants page shows what a menu-led site includes.
