A stone comes off a lorry on the N7 and a star appears at eye level. The driver pulls in, takes a photo, and searches ‘windscreen repair near us’ before the engine is cool. They want three answers fast: can you come to us, can you do it today, and will our insurance cover it. Websites for windscreen repair in Dublin are won in that lay-by, on a phone, by whichever page answers first.
A chip is a quick decision
Nobody shops around for a week on a windscreen. The crack is spreading, the NCT is next month, or the car is needed for the school run tomorrow. So the top of the page carries the phone button, the WhatsApp button, and three lines: mobile across Dublin and the counties around it, same day where possible, insurance work handled.
Below that, what a chip repair involves and why it is worth doing before it spreads, when a replacement is the only option, and why damage on the driver’s side of the glass is treated differently from the passenger side. The driver who understands the difference trusts the quote.
Mobile, insured, today
Most people have never claimed on their motor policy for glass and do not know whether they can. The page explains it in plain words: many policies cover windscreen damage, you deal with the insurer directly, the customer pays the excess if there is one and nothing else, and a chip repair is often covered in full. Then the insurers you are approved with, and a line for drivers without cover saying what the job costs instead.
‘Mobile’ needs to mean something too. The areas you cover and how far out you go. Whether you fit in a workplace car park as happily as a driveway. What the customer needs to have ready, which is usually the car and somewhere dry to stand. And what happens if it is lashing rain, because people wonder.
Chip or replacement: let the photo decide
The WhatsApp button is the quoting tool. A photo of the damage with something beside it for scale, the reg, the location, and you can say chip or replacement, in the driver’s view or not, and a price, in a two-line reply from the van. The enquiry form does the same job by email for people who do not use WhatsApp, with a field for the reg so you can look up the glass before you ring back.
Newer cars add a step. A car with a camera behind the mirror for lane assist or emergency braking needs that camera recalibrated after the glass is replaced, and a page that explains this plainly wins the customer who has heard the word and does not know what it means. Say whether you do the recalibration yourself or arrange it, and what it adds to the job.
Frost, gritters and the NCT
Glass work has a season. The first hard frost in November turns every summer chip into a crack when the heater goes on, and the phones go for a week. Gritted roads through the winter throw stones, and resurfacing works do the same in summer. Then there is the NCT: a run of calls arrives from people who have been told a crack in the wiper sweep will fail the test and need it done before the date.
The quiet weeks are for the pages that bring planned work: van fleets, taxi firms, dealers preparing stock, side and rear glass, sunroofs, wing mirrors. Each gets its own short page, because each is a different search, and the local SEO guide explains why a page per service and area does better than one long page that mentions everything. If you also do house and shopfront glass, the glaziers page covers that trade.
What we need to build it
Your service areas and your hours, including whether you answer at the weekend. Chip repair, replacement, side and rear glass, recalibration, commercial: which you do, and from prices for each. Your insurer arrangement in your own words. Photos of the van, a fitting in progress on a driveway, and a finished job. A note on how fast you usually reach someone. If the Google pin is sitting on your house rather than hidden or on the unit, we fix that too; how to get your business on Google Maps explains what tends to go wrong.
Plans
Essentials at €499 to set up and €50 a month is the right start for a glass business that is mostly rung and WhatsApped. Complete at €1,499 and €100 a month adds Google Ads managed for you (you pay Google directly), the chat box and the review texts. The pricing page has the two side by side.
